Milani Liquif’Eye Metallic Eyeliner pencil in Black

Review for Milani Liquif’Eye Metallic Eyeliner pencil in Black

Hey hey! Today I’m reviewing a cheap and good pencil eyeliner which is Milani liquif’eye pencil eyeliner. I also featured it in my recent haul. This pencil eyeliner is climbing rapidly to fame with famous youtubers such as Xteeener and many others raving about this product. It is sadly not available in Singapore but you can get your hands on it through Cherry Culture, Drugstore and more.

Many says that they are dupes of Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-on-Eye pencil eyeliners and MakeUpForEver’s Aqua Eyes Waterproof pencil eyeliners. I’ve seen reviews on the UB and MUFE pencil eyeliners and surprisingly many were quite negative, so I didn’t get them also considering that they cost a whopping 30-40 sg bucks!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on-Eye: 3.6 on Makeupalley (US$18)

MUFE Aqua Eyes: 3.5 on Makeupalley (US$18)

Milani Liquif’Eye Metallic: 4.1 on Makeupalley (US$6-7 depending where you get them)

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Extremely smooth eye pencil with the application and feel of a liquid liner that delivers true color payoff, in a metallic finish with a long-lasting wear.

Pros:

It is extremely creamy! I would say that it is creamier than MAC’s Smolder and Revlon’s Matte pencil eyeliner. Glides on so smoothly on the eye and I do not need to tug my eyelids. It is so opaque, definitely comparable to MAC’s Smolder. The pencil eyeliner is ‘normal sized’, meaning that it should fit in most sharpeners and you do not need to buy a separate one.

The best part of the pencil eyeliner? The lasting power. The lasting power is fabulous! It does not vanish totally or smudge crazily and really stays put. I swear to god I have the oiliest lids in the whole wide world and nothing stays on my lids without a primer on. MAC’s black track fluidline smudges on me, Maybelline studio one smudges like crazy; MAC’s smolder vanishes within an hour, Revlon colourstay liquid liner and Kate Kanebo gel liner smudges and fades too.

I wouldn’t say the lasting power is comparable to a gel liner because it isn’t but the milani liquif’eye is definitely hands down the best pencil eyeliner I’ve used.

So with that said I am really impressed by this pencil eyeliner. Pencil eyeliners usually smudges the fastest on me, often it vanishes 1-2 hours after application. Today I went short hiking (?) trekking (?) whatever you call it with my older brother to get some sun and exercise and I wore this on my lids since we were only going for 2 hours. I sweated buckets under the hot sun and when I got home surprise surprise! It was still there!!

Cons:

As miraculous as it seems, it did smudge a little around the outer corners of my eyes. But I’m sure with a primer under, it will eliminate the smudging problem. I find it fades a little when dried but just layer another layer on top after the liner dries and it stays opaque.

As shown in the swatch, I think it gives more of a matte finish compared to a metallic finish. I personally like mattes more so I don’t find it a problem.

It gets blunt really really quickly due to the creaminess texture; therefore I find that I have to keep sharpening to achieve a winged eyeliner look. Sadly for peeps in Asia we can only get our hands on it online.

The packaging is pretty ordinary, nothing out of the box I just find that the pencil liner scraps while capping if not careful. A good size for the price and very travel-friendly.

Yadda yadda:

I paid around SGD$11 plus shipping. Net Weight: 0.04 OZ/ 1.2g. Will I repurchase? Yes! I will repurchase again and again unless I’ve found another great alternative. I highly recommend you guys to check it out, superb quality and lasting power. Any good eyeliners to recommend? Please do!

Lasting power: 4.5/5
Overall rating: 4.5/5

A/N: Sorry for the extremely lengthy post, I tried to make it as detailed as possible. Please forgive any typo errors! I hope you guys find this helpful and see you guys soon!

MAC Eye Kohl pencil eyeliner in Smolder

Review for MAC kohl pencil eyeliner in Smolder

Today I’m reviewing a MAC product! It’s the MAC kohl eyeliner in Smolder. I bought it during about a month ago and I feature it in my collective haul post. It is raved by Stylesuzi who is a makeup guru on Youtube and also many other beauty bloggers.

On MAC website:
A soft-on pencil liner that lines, defines and shades the eyes with rich colour and a silky-smooth, matte/pearl finish. Ophthalmologist tested.

Pros:

Extremely creamy! Oh my gosh this goes on like a wonder. Glides on effortlessly and is very opaque. I really LOVE the texture and shade it gives. It is an opaque black and easy to apply. No tugging of eyelids is needed and with this pencil eyeliner, thin and thick lines can be easily achieved. The lines are very easy to remove, two swipes of my Mandom Cleansing Express and it is almost gone. There is a lot of product in the pencil so you can be assured that you are getting a reasonable amount of product for the price. So props to that! It is inexpensive, many drugstore brand are sold at a higher price (in Singapore) than MAC products (online) so I highly recommend purchasing online IF you are buying from a reliable website such as the MAC website.

Cons:

This eyeliner smudges like crazy. The staying power is definitely a huge letdown. 1 hour and I look like a ridiculous raccoon. It last only around 1 hour on my lower lids (do take note that I have extremely oily lids). My eyeliner usually don’t smudge on my upper eyelid but it did transfer to my under eyes. Even after setting it with a matte black eyeshadow, it still smudged. I usually apply it around 8am and at around 6 or 7pm, the line is almost vanished. It loses its vibrancy and opaqueness and does not adhere to the skin as well. So, you may want to bring along your pencil eyeliner for touch ups. I highly recommend using a eye primer under it.

Yadda Yadda:

I bought this for SGD$22.00 approx online. Overall I do think that it is a good product except for the staying power. Will I repurchase? No, solely because of its poor lasting power. I am interested in purchasing Urban Decay’s 24hr pencil and the Milani one as I heard really good raves about them so I may forgo repurchasing this. Have you guys tried any MAC pencil eyeliners? Are they good? Tell me your thoughts!

Lasting Power: 2.5/5
Overall rating: 3.5/5 Stars

Review for La Girl’s Pencil Eyeliner in P601 Black and P602 Brown-Black

Review for La Girl’s Pencil Eyeliner in P601 Black and P602 Brown-Black

Hello Everyone! Today I’m gonna do a review on La Girl’s Pencil Eyeliner in Black and Brown-Black. Find out where I bought it here! I’ve decided to first do a review on Black and Brown-Black because I’ve used those more frequently and able to write a more detailed review. I think people will be more concerned with the darker shades than bright shades. There are really not much difference between the two, the brown-black looks more brownish when swatched.

Pros:

Brown-Black shade looks very natural. Price is extremely inexpensive. I paid like 5 bucks and compared to other drugstore brands such as Revlon and Loreal, I do think that it is the cheapest. I think it works fairly well for its price. These eyeliners do stay on the upper eyelids really well, lower lids, meh, not really. I was under the hot Singapore sun (yes, hot Singapore sun because the heat literally melts away any traces of makeup) for an hour and it did fade a little (30-40%) but the eyeliner still stays on. The lines can be removed easily; one swipe of my mandom cleansingexpress makeup remover and it’s practically gone.

Cons:

These pencils require a sharpener which may be inconvenient to some people but it is totally fine with me. The pencil liners are quite hard and can does not glide on that smoothly compared to my Revlon matte eyeliner and MAC kohl eyeliner in Smolder which I will do a review later on. It is not that creamy and I find that I do have to tug my eyelids a little when I use these. Opaque line is hard to achieve. I find that no matter how many times I go over it I am still unable to get a very opaque shade. I will recommend these eyeliners if you do not like harsh eyeliners. I do prefer my eyeliner to be opaque black so I consider this a con.

The lasting power is not very good, around 3 hours at most I would say. The one thing I probably dislike the most about these pencils is that it smudges. Not like crazy raccoon eyes, but it does smudge. The Revlon Matte Eyeliner differs slightly from the LA Girl liners throughout the day, it does not smudge but it fades and then vanishes.

Yadda Yadda:

I bought these LA Girl pencil eyeliners at Guardian for SGD$5.00 each at Guardian now. Go grab some LA Girl cosmetics at your nearby Guardian! Will I repurchase? As much as I want to, I probably will not repurchase. The eyeliners do not go very easily and the colour is not opaque enough for my liking.

Watsons and Guardian Haul! More LA Girl & Face Mask!

Watsons and Guardian Haul! More LA Girl & Face Mask!

Hey Hey Hey! I’m back with another haul! Made a trip down to my local Shopping Mall and did some cheap makeup hunting and market research maybe? Heh! I’m trying to find more beauty products so that I can review on this blog. It’s something I got to know recently after establishing this blog that I really enjoy doing reviews. Even if it takes up a lot of time (1 hour for writing the review, 1 hour for taking and watermarking pictures) and I also need to proofread and check for any missing points. I am naturally a really slow writer and a huge technology newb, so please pardon any little errors here and there.

Tell me how I got so side tracked, okay on to the haul.

I went to Watsons first and there were nothing interesting to be honest, no discounts, and no new products. Oh! Talking about new products, Dolly Wink eyelashes are sold in Watsons now. Not sure about the price though (not stated on products or shelves), should be around SGD$20 to SGD$30. I’m not really onto the Dolly Wink hype, I think it’s absurdly overpriced, and for the same price there are probably better quality products out there. I heard the eyelashes are really pretty so I’m quite tempted to try. Sponsor me Dolly Wink? Meh, don’t think they will.

-Side tracked again!!! Someone hit me please-

Okay so I couldn’t find anything I wanted at Watsons and yet I didn’t want to leave empty handed so I bought face masks that were on sale for SGD$2 (original price $4 approx). Then I went to Guardian and I my eyes went from ‘o.o’ to ‘O.O!’ LA Girl cosmetics were on sale! They weren’t on sale but I think kinda like closing down sale? because the remaining products were so limited (only lipsticks and pencil eyeliners left) the thought kinda flew into my head. I’m guessing Guardian does not import LA Girl products anymore, just like how they stopped importing NYX products. Therefore the remaining unsold LA Girl Products are sold at such cheap prices. BUT!! I may be wrong.

So I was like ‘YAAHHOOO’ and grabbed 2 more of my favourite LA Girl LC536 Secret Admirer lippy which I will do a review later on. I also bought 2 LA Girl Pencil Eyeliners in P601 Black and P602 Brown-Black. Lipstick cost SGD$10 and eyeliner cost SGD$5 each. Pretty. Freaking. Amazing. Right?! So now all you peeps know about this sale, get off your chair and go snag some cheap makeup now!

Okay I need to end this really long post now. Photos will be posted below!

Review for Revlon Matte Luxurious Color Kohl Eyeliner 02 Rich Mink & 04Pure White

Review for Revlon Matte Luxurious Color Kohl Eyeliner 02 Rich Mink & 04 Pure White

I went to Mustafa recently and got a few products on sale at the Cosmetic section, the makeup products I got were Revlon Matte Luxurious Color Kohl Eyeliner and I got it in 2 colours- 02 Rich Mink and 04 Pure White. They were on a crazy sale at 1 for SGD$15.90 and 2 for SGD$12.00!! I was like ‘ZOMG! Are you kidding me?!’ Such a great deal! I grabbed both Rich Mink and Pure White.

From Left: Pure White, Rich Mink (below)

From Left: Pure White, Rich Mink (below)

From Top: Rich Mink, Pure White

Revlon Matte Kohl Eyeliner is a dual ended kohl pencil liner with smooth, rich fluid colour that glides on smoothly and evenly. The versatile formula allows for multiple eye looks. Available in five shades: Very Violet (purple), Midnight Blue (dark blue), Rich Mink (dark brown), Black Truffle (Black) and Pure White (white). Rich Mink is a matte dark brown eyeliner and Pure White is a matte white eyeliner.

Pros:

The pencil eyeliners are matte which is pretty awesome considering the amount of shimmery eyeliners pencils on the market. I’ve been finding a matte white eyeliner since forever! They go on pretty smoothly, no tugging of eyelids required. The texture and formula is very creamy. There is a Styrofoam/rubber end for smudging purposes but I don’t really use it, I consider that as a plus. These eyeliner pencils are great if you want to achieve thin smooth lines and can be used on the waterline as they glide on really well.

Cons:

I have extremely oily upper lids and watery eyes. The pencil eyeliner faded around 2-3 hours upon applying and after 5-6 hours it vanishes (LOL). These pencil eyeliners are a BITCH to unwrap! I think I spent a whole 10 minutes trying to rip off all the layers of plastic seals.

I will not recommend this product for peeps with oily and watery lids as smudging will probably occur throughout the day. A common tip is to layer eyeshadow of a similar shade over the pencil eyeliner so the powder absorbs the oil from the lids before reaching the eyeliner.

Yadda Yadda:

I am not sure how much it retails for but I got it at Mustafa during a sale for SGD$6.00 each (original price at Mustafa is SGD$15.90). Net Weight 0.035 oz. Rating: 3.5/5 stars. Will I repurchase? Probably not for the original price, I will find a cheaper/ better alternative. Have you guys tried it? What are your thoughts?

A/N: (Update) I went to Watsons to check and it is available there for SGD$15.90.
