Clio Gelpresso Glow Tint in 003 Enamel Pink | Review + Lip swatch

Read Article →
Hey guys! Ever since I saw the Gelpresso Glow Tint in stores in the beginning of this year, I knew I needed to try them out for you guys! The Gelpresso Glow Tint by Clio is a liptint that gives your lips a vibrant glossy finish and contains lotus extracts to keep your lips moisturize. It encompasses the benefits of using 3 lip products, the pigmentation of a lipstick, the shine of a gloss and the lasting power of a stain.

I did a swatch post on the entire range so click here if you are interested.

If you have fair skin, this shade will complement your skin tone perfectly. I like using my fingers to blend or even a lip brush whenever I want to achieve a more precise and clean line. If you aren't a fan of a full neon pink lip color, dab on the inner corners of the lips for a softer gradient effect.

Pros:
Do not underestimate the Glow Tint, this product has the texture of a lipgloss but the pigmentation is fantastic. The price is great as well, I got it at for around S$14 after a 20% discount from the original retail price of S$16.90.

The product comes in a plastic packaging with a twist to dispense function similar to how a lipstick works. It is pretty easy to control although if too much product gets dispense, there is no going back into the container.

The way the applicator is made makes application non streaky and so much more easy to apply. True to Clio's promises, the gelpresso glow tint formula is indeed non-sticky and non-greasy like traditional lip glosses.

The lasting power is hands down the best out of all lip products I have ever tried. Clio products are well known for their staying power (especially Lipnicure) and the Gelpresso Glow Tint once again outdone themselves. Once the product is on the lips there is no coming off. The glossy finish disappears after 2hrs of application but the stain will last for an entire day.

Cons:
This product is lacking a bit on the color range. I mean come on, 5 shades! I think Clio can definitely do better in the shade range.

Lip products the leaves a stain is ALWAYS drying. I recommend using a balm before application because this stuff will crack your lips. This isn't the most drying lip product I've used (lip stains are the worst!) but it is pretty high on the list. But the great thing about the Glow Tint is it doesn't make the lips look flaky.

Yadda Yadda:
All in all, the Clio Gelpresso Glow Tint is an amazing product and I highly recommend it. The lasting power is bomb, it is so pigmented, they are so many ways to wear them, all in all, a fantastic product.

Price: 5/5
Packaging: 5/5
Product: 4/5 (-0.5 for the drying factor, -0.5 for the limited color range)
Lasting power: 5/5
Overall rating: A

Clio Gelpresso Glow Tint SWATCHES!

Read Article →

Hey guys! So nowadays the key term we use in all aspects of life is convenience. Fast food, 2-in-1 shampoo, credit cards has become necessities essential to us. This also applies to makeup; tint for cheeks and lips, tinted moisturizer, gel liner in pencil form, etc are wildly gaining popularity. The 'IT' thing now is none other than 3-in-1 lip products - products that combines a traditional lipstick, stain and lip gloss. Mega impact in minimum time. And the Clio Gelpresso Glow Tint has accomplished that. I feel this is a product has the perfect balance of shine and pigmentation.

No.1 Flat Pink
No.2 Pompous Purple (Not available in Singapore)
No.3 Enamel Pink
No.4 Wedge Orange
No.5 Killheel Red

I love Clio products, I haven't really had the chance to try many of them but they are such a popular brand and are always coming up with innovative unique products like the Virgin Kiss Lipnicure. I do have swatches for a couple of Clio lip products, I will leave the links below.

The Clio Gelpresso Glow Tint retail for S$16.90 each and are available at selected Watsons.

Shade no. 3 looks amazing on fair skin, so I am really tempted to try that. Let me know which shade is your favourite! *EDIT: Review on 003 Enamel Pink is UP! Click here to check it out!

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Polish SWATCHES!

Read Article →

The Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Polish has reached our sunny shores earlier last year. Maybelline website states that the Lip Polishes are infused with liquid balm to give lips a silky, cushiony feel. Together with Maybelline's special leaf-shaped brush applicator made from Angora fur gives the perfect finish. It promises the intense color of a lipstick, shine of a gloss and comfort of a balm - aka a 3-in-1 elixer.

I haven't tried them on my lips yet, but by swatching them at the back of my hand, they are without a doubt amazingly pigmented, especially the darker shades. The lighter shades may go slightly sheerer.

There are only 10 shades available in singapore. I am not sure how the shades that will go on sale for different regions are chosen, I have seen swatches of Glam 3 & Glam 7 and they are GORGEOUS. Unfortunately, if you want to own those shades, you would have to buy them online.

The Lip Polishes retail for S$19.90 each and are available at Watsons, Guardian, Sasa & major supermarkets and hypermarkets.

Herworldplus states that limited edition colours Pop 1, Pop 4, Glam 3 and Glam 7 will be available from January 2014.

My favourites from this line are definitely Pop 5 and Pop 6. I have something for bright pink lipglosses and who can deny such a classic statement red?! I believe the model was wearing Pop 6 for the campaign shot below. Amazing colour don't 'cha think?

Review | NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in LG164 Nude Pink

Read Article →

Hey guys! I haven't uploaded in a couple of days but I do have a good reason for it - I got a new laptop! Yippee! I bought a Macbook Air 13", and my previous laptop was Acer so I needed some time to get used to the new operating system. Anywhozzles, I bought the NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Nude Pink ages ago but I have never reviewed it before.  So here you guys go!

Pros:
I love the colour and pigmentation, it is lighter than my original bare lip but the lipgloss managed to cover it up well. It is very streaky though, if you pressed your lips too tightly, it smudges a bit.

I highly recommend this shade if you love nudes, this color is a perfect creamy nude pink just as the name suggests. I bought my NYX Mega Shine lipglosses at Smoochiezz for around S$8. Sephora in Singapore is also carrying NYX cosmetics and I believe the Mega Shine lipglosses are S$10 each so they are very affordable.

Cons:
The formula doesn't get absorbed into the skin, it kinda feels like grease, as if I've eaten a fried chicken wing and there is a film of oil on my lips. I have worn Nude Pink out a couple of times and whenever I drink, I have to wipe it off and reapply otherwise it will look extremely patchy.

The Mega Shine lipglosses have a cherry medicinal smell and taste to it which I really dislike.

Verdict:
I personally don't really care for the Mega Shine lipglosses. I haven't tried other shades, but I am not a fan of the formula. They are very affordable so if you want to try a bunch of shades without burning a hole in your pocket, this is a good option. However the quality isn't all that great, you really get what you pay for.

7 Must Buys at Daiso Singapore!

Read Article →

Hey guys! If you haven't been to Asia, you may not know what Daiso is. Daiso is a 100 yen large franchise store, meaning that all products in the shop are 100 yen. In Singapore, all items are S$2 and there are currently 11 outlets islandwide. I would consider Daiso a one-stop shop for cheap gadgets, tools, kitchen utilities. They have literally everything you can think of and are all at only $2!

#1

I have been asked multiple times by strangers in the store asking what this is for. This is probably more widely known as a lint remover. I don't use this on my clothes but I find this so useful for picking up hairs on carpets/beds. This is definitely one life hack weapon for people with long hair. The handy tool picks up dusts, dirt and hair within a snap, tear off the sheet and easily dispose it into the trash bin without any hassle.

#2

Daiso is divided into different sections in a store. I always look through the makeup aisle because sometimes, there are treasures that goes unnoticed. Eyelashes for S$2?! Heck yeah! There are a plethora of different eyelash designs, I have tried many of them over the years and I feel that these ones I got are one of the more natural looking ones.

 #3

If you are looking for bubble wraps, zip-lock bags, clear plastic pocket bags, you can always find them at Daiso. Probably not the cheapest bought in bulk but if you are just starting out or you are like me who needs small quantities for storage/giveaways, there are tons of different sizes to choose from.

#4

I LOVE these stackable lotion containers that Daiso have currently. You can buy multiples of it and stack them all together! I have a lot of samples of bb creams, moisturizers, even loose eyeshadows and having them all in a single stack is so much more convenient than looking through samples when in rush for time. I particularly favour the clear containers because I can see the contents from outside.

#5
These slinky rubber bands are definitely a replacement for the traditional fabric hair ties that we use. They comes in a pack of 6 colourful bands or 6 black bands. I have 2 packs of these and they are a must have in my makeup bag. They don't leave a indent in the hair and holds up to wear and tear very well.

#6

Every girl needs one of these five compartment containers. I use them to store my bobby pins, hair ties, clips that would 'mysteriously vanish' whenever I need them. Having it in a single place is so much more helpful!

#7

I had no idea these even existed! These are plastic stud earrings and can be found in the cosmetics section of Daiso. I am always wearing plastic studs and no matter how many times you buy them, when you need it, they cannot be found anywhere. It is as if a black hole swallowed them all, a black hole that includes erasers, bobby pins and our tv remote controls if you know what I mean. With this contraption, whenever I need one, I can just pull them off the stem and use them immediately.

This rounds up my top 7 buys from Daiso. Do you have any must buys from Daiso? Let us know in the comments below!

Love,
Hannah

L'oreal Paris Shine Caresse 603 Milady & 606 Lolita + Swatches!

Read Article →

L'oreal Shine Caresse lipgloss is a dazzling shine fresh moisture light-weight lip color. It promises to be the first lip color to fuse with your lips. Provides a rich refined color yet a barely-there lip sensation. Lips feel cocooned in a fresh, dewy sensation.

I have seen on other reviews that the Shine Caresse is a dupe for YSL Glossy Stain. Considering that YSL now belongs to L'oreal group, the Shine Caresse can be considered as the affordable version of YSL Glossy Stain which retails for S$43 here in Singapore.

603 Milady is a very pretty lilac shade and 606 Lolita is a brownish peachy shade. I really like the color Milady, I think it complements my skin tone very well. I had high hopes for Lolita, I thought that Lolita would be an everyday peachy nude but I don't really appreciate the color that much on my lips. The Shine Caresse lipgloss has a perfumed scent to it and a mild flowery taste. It also leaves a slight stain behind. The applicator is just amazing, one of the best applicators I have used and some said that it is very similar to the applicator of YSL Glossy Stain. It deposits just the right amount of product and giving just a nice thin layer of coat.

Overall I feel that the Shine Caresse range is definitely provides much more than just a simple lip gloss. It is a two in one product, a lipgloss and a lip stain. It is pigmented enough to wear it alone by itself, it doesn't dry out my lips that quickly as compared to other lip glosses and the staying power is great. The design is very impressive as well, very sleek and sturdy. I would recommend it if you are looking for a affordable option (retails for S$18.90) instead of investing in the YSL Glossy Stain.

Love,
Hannah
