Schwarzkopf Osis + Dust It Matifying Powder

Review for Schwarzkopf Osis + Dust It Matifying Powder

Hey guys! Today I’m reviewing a product called the Osis + Dust It Matifying Powder by Schwarzkopf. This powder is a life saver for girls who have flat hair. I have very long straight hair and it weighs down on my scalp resulting in flat hair that does not have volume or texture. Of course there are other methods like teasing or using a volumnizer but I find this method very easy and hassle free.

Pros:

The powder does what it says, once applied to my roots my hair gets some kind of a rubbery texture; some sort of friction I feel. Then using my fingers to lightly push the hair upwards in place and it stays in that position.

The fine powder matifies the hair too so if you have any oily areas that requires some additional boost, shake some on and viola, beautiful, volumnized hair. So this powder is really a 2-in-1 product, a volumnizer and a dry shampoo.

To prevent over applying, I cover majority of the holes as shown in picture below. You can also use tape to cover some holes.

The powder is very fine and not gritty at all. If blended well, the powder does not leave any white tints to the hair. I did not find any problems with the powder blending into my black hair.

Unlike traditional hairspray, this powder is very easy to remove. The way I remove it is to just shampoo and then rinse. There will not be any traces of the power left.

I recommend applying the powder on the roots avoiding the scalp as it is said that powder products such as dry shampoo can clog pores

Cons:

The bottle contains just 10g of product which is pretty pricey depending on where you get it, it can cost up to $30.

I have seen other reviewers stating that when they washed their hair, their shampoo will not lather up at all and this is TRUE! When I washed my hair the first time, I was pretty confused too. My shampoo will not lather up no matter how vigorously I scrubbed. Therefore if that is a problem for you guys, you want to try other products.

I find that I have to keep scrunching it upwards because it does fall flat during the day so I would say the holding power is around 3 hours without scrunching. The dense, rubbery & friction-y texture last until the next time you wash your hair.

I’ve heard that there are fakes of this product online too so please be careful as to where you are purchasing this product. I bought mine at Venus and you can get the product on Amazon or any other beauty outlets.

Technically speaking it is not really a dry shampoo so if you are looking for a product to absorb the oils from the hair, this may not be the most appropriate product.

Yadda Yadda:

I paid SGD$16 for the Schwarzkopf Osis + Dust It Matifying Powder and i highly recommend it if you are looking for a volumnizing product that is fast and hassle free. Will I repurchase? Yes, unless I’ve found a better and cheaper alternative.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear that you got a fake product. I was apprehensive of purchasing it online too, that's why I bought it in a store. Either way we still do have to be careful.

Thank you for doing such a detailed comparison, I'm sure readers will benefit from it when purchasing their Dust-it powder. It is crazy how replicas look so authentic nowadays.

Anyways thanks for reading my blog, have a nice weekend! :)
