The Body Shop Powder Blush in 01

Hey guys! This post will be the 2nd part of the review and this review is going to be on The Body Shop Powder Blush in 01. Read the previous review on Nyx blush in Cinnamon here. This blush doesn’t state the colour on the back so I’ll just call it shade 01. This was a Christmas gift from my aunt and I went to The Body Shop the other day and saw this blush in their makeup section for SGD$22.90.

Swatches

Pros:

It is a very versatile everyday pale pink shade. The pink is on the cooler side I would say but still a very wearable light pink blush.

You can use a heavy hand with this blush as it is not as pigmented and bright as the NYX powder blushes. As seen in the swatches, it is a matte blush therefore there are no shimmers or sheen to it.

It compliments fairer skin tones very well especially with girls who has extremely fair skin (NC10-20), this is a good everyday blush. The blush gives off a very subtle flush that is very natural and not obvious to others (that you are wearing blush) at all.

Cons:

As you guys can see from the swatches, this blush is a tad chalky and the shade is pretty light. I do have to go over pack the powder on for the colour to actually show up. Therefore I do not at all recommend to peeps with skin tones NC30 and over. It will definitely not show up.

The blush pan looks pretty small and it IS in fact smaller than the NYX powder blushes. The Body Shop (TBS) blush contains 4g of product while the NYX powder blushes contain 5.2g of product. And the fact that TBS blushes are WAY more expensive (SGD$22.90) than the NYX blushes (Approx SGD$7-10) just does not justify its worth.

Yadda Yadda:

This blush was a gift from my lovely and beautiful Aunt. I personally do not really recommend it. The colour barely shows up and price tag is a huge downside to purchasing this blush. The powder looks chalky and has poor pigmentation. However for girls who are looking for pale matte pink blushes, you may want to try this out. Will I repurchase? Nope, I do like more pigmented blushes.

Mini LA Girl Haul + People’s Park OCEAN store chitchat!

Mini LA Girl Haul + People’s Park OCEAN store chitchat!

Yesterday I had nothing to do and was really bored at home. So I tagged along with my mum and she drove us to People’s Park around Chinatown where everyday supplies are really cheap there. I bought my LA Girl cosmetics at this shop called OCEAN. If I am not wrong it is at level 3. Stuffs there are pretty cheap! The building is beside OG and had the big PEOPLE’s PARK sign on it.

The shop also carries VOV products. VOV is a famous Korean cosmetic brand, similar to nature republic, etude house, the face shop, etc. Their VOV products range around SGD$7.90 for a lipliner to SGD$22 for a lipgloss. I didn’t take much notice of the foundation because there were SO many people and their display of cosmetics is quite messy.

BUT! BUT! BUTT! I noticed something strange there! I saw that they sell the Skin 79 Beblesh Balm Hot Pink at the store and that caught my attention. I took it up and the pump was all weird and the prints on the bottle were all faded and messed up. The first thought that came into my head was that it was a fake one because I’m using the same BB cream and the pump does NOT look like that! It cost SGD$35.90 so do be careful of the products you are buying there and beware of fake cosmetics/skin care products.

Okay onto LA Girl cosmetics, quite a large range, I checked the expiry date of the cosmetics and it was good. Below are the products I bought.

Couldn't decide between the two pictures so i'll just upload two >.<

BOO! Only 2 items?! Yeah. As I said earlier my mum was with me so I couldn’t spend like 50 bucks on cosmetics. I bought a watch earlier too so I was kinda tight on budget. The lipstick I bought was LC536 Secret Admirer and BL554 Blushing for blush. The blush looks more baby pink than in photos, the shade is similar to the shade of the lipstick but less bright. I heard that the lipstick Secret Admirer was a really cute baby pink shade so I bought it but I swatched it and it looks more like a candy pink shade. Product reviews will be done as soon as I have time to test and try out. The blush was kind of an impulse purchase but hey, there’s no such thing as too much makeup yea?

I wanted to post this haul for you guys because the price is soooooo GOD DAMN appealing!!! The Lipstick was SGD$10 and the blush was SGD$15. I was like WHUTTTT! I’m pretty sure the last time I saw the lipstick prices at Guardian Pharmacies they were like SGD$19.90 each. Crazy, isn’t it? Then I went to the cashier to pay and it came out to be SGD$21! HOMG there’s even a discount! The Lipstick was SGD$8 and the blusher was SGD$12 after the discount. What a deal!

I checked the authenticity of the LA Girls but I can’t find any information on fake LA Girls cosmetics so I’m guessing it’s real? I know LA Girl is an inexpensive cosmetic brand so I presume it is logical for the cheap price. But all in all, I will use in caution and update you guys on the products and maybe write a review on them.

Have you guys been to people’s park before? I’m going back to snag some VOV lipliners. Any cheap cosmetics you’ve found? Share with me your thoughts! Sorry for the long nagging post…570 words! GEEZUS!

Review for Rimmel Vinyl Gloss in 111 Demure, 112 Steal My Kisses and113 Mischief

Review for Rimmel Vinyl Gloss

On the recent trip to Watsons, I picked up a few Rimmel lip glosses that were on 20% discount. The three Vinyl Glosses I picked were in shades 111 Demure, 112 Steal My Kisses and 113 Mischief. The lip glosses are applicator form for easy navigation of product onto lips.

Left to Right: Demure, Steal My Kisses, Mischief (below)

Swatches with flash (below) Left to Right: Demure, Steal My Kisses, Mischief

Swatches under daylighting (below) Left to Right: Demure, Steal My Kisses, Mischief

Demure is a candy milky baby pink shade in the bottle but comes out extremely sheer. The colour is very girly and will look very pretty topped over a baby pink lipstick.

Steal My Kisses is a pink with slight orange undertone that is darker and more pigmented than Demure.

Mischief looks purple in the bottle but comes out pink with purple undertones. It is more pigmented than Demure. It is very wearable despite the shocking purple colour in bottle. If you are looking for a lilac colour that is not too loud, this might be the one for you.

Pros:

These three colours are beautiful and extremely wearable. They do not dry out lips which is a pretty wonderful as I have sensitive and dry lips and pretty much all lipsticks and glosses I’ve tried dried out my lips, making my fingers itch as I restrain from peeling them. The glosses are extremely affordable; S$12.90 each. Definitely buildable for Steal My Kisses and Mischief, not that much for Demure as it is very sheer. The lasting power is around 3 hours if drinking only water. Reapplication is required after meals.

Cons:

These glosses are not very pigmented so I will not recommend it if you have dark/ pigmented lips as the colours will probably not show up. But for the price I still do think that these glosses are reasonable and the colour payoff from the Steal My Kisses and Mischief are quite good.

Yadda Yadda:

Retails for S$12.90 at Watsons for 5ml or 0.17 fl oz. I bought it at a 20% discount and paid only S$10.00 for each gloss. Will I repurchase? YES! I already bought backups of Steal My Kisses and Mischief. My current HG lipglosses! Hurry, go snag a few now and share your thoughts! Ratings: 4.5/5 Stars.
