Review for Elf Conditioning Lip Balm SPF 15 in Peaceful Pink

Today I am going to do a review on Elf Conditioning Lip Balm in peaceful pink. I have been really wanting to try it out after reading many positive review and beautiful swatches. And I finally got my hands on it! Love it, Hate it? Read more to find out!

With flash (below)

Pros:

Beautiful warm pink colour with a tint of coral in it. Absolutely gorgeous colour and added bonus of an Spf of 15. Great colour for any season especially for the summer and a very convenient 2 in 1 product. According to the website of the product description, this product is more of tinted balm but it is extremely pigmented, texture feels more like a lipstick. It is less watery compared to a traditional lip balm but the colour payoff is excellent. Its kinda lies in between a lipstick and a lip balm. I will highly recommend this balm to people who has pigmented lips. Another plus is that the product is very affordable.

Lasting power is okay, similar to a normal lipstick 2-3 hours without eating. It smells like sweet candies and taste like berries, the scent is pretty amazing.  It can be drying so remember to use a lip balm under the product.

Cons:

Unhygienic as you have to dip finger into the pot or use a spatula which is time consuming when you are on-the-go or rushing for time. I use my fingers as lips do not have pores and wouldn’t get clog and stuff so I really don’t mind. But! If you are using your fingers do take note that nails are very prone to scrap the product. It is the way the container is made in my opinion.

Container is a little deceiving as the amount of product you get is much lesser than the huge plastic container. But for the price it is a reasonable amount. That leads to the next point which is that the container is too excessively large making the product so bulky and not travel-friendly at all. I just don’t get it, what is the excess plastic for anyways? You would be surprise how gigantic this product is.

Yadda Yadda:
Anyway, it is a good product so I will definitely repurchase. Net weight 0.26 oz/ 7.5g. USD$3.00 on eyeslipsface.com. Have you guys tried it yet? Tell me your thoughts!

Packaging: 2.5/5
Pigmentation: 4.5/5
Lasting power: 4/5
Price: 5/5
Overall rating: 4/5

Review for Maybelline Eyebrow Pencil by Eyestudio in Grey

Review for Maybelline Eyebrow Pencil by Eyestudio in Grey

Since I dyed my hair jet black, I’ve been looking for the perfect grey eyebrow pencil to complement my dark hair. I decided to give Maybelline Eyebrow Pencil in shade Grey a try! And again the packaging is a bitch to rip off. Had to use my teeth, scissors, teeth again and accidentally downed a few pieces of plastic but all is good. Aha! I kid! But it went something around that line.

I drew an eyebrow for you guys!  Ain't it pretty?

Pros:
Great grey colour! Wished it had lesser reddish-brown undertones and more of a true grey colour but it is still a great grey pencil. Smooth application, easy to glide on brow, great pigmentation and also waterproof. The pencil does not come off too dark and harsh which I like. Brow pencil is able to achieve precise lines and natural looking brows.  Size is small so very easy for travelling. Lasting power is great! It is able to last all day with only the pencil on my brows. Suitable for oily brows as it does stay put.

Cons:
There is no brush/ spoolie on the other side like most eyebrow pencils do so it is a little less convenient. Size is pretty small for a brow pencil but for the price I consider it reasonable. Doesn’t have much cons to this product.

Yadda Yadda:
Available at Watsons and Guardian at S$6.90 each for 0.78g or 0.028oz of product. I bought it at a 20% discount so I paid S$5.50 (approx). Rating: 5/5 stars. Awesome product! I recommend everyone to go and try it. Will I repurchase? Most definitely! I already got 2 backups in case Maybelline decides to discontinue it.

My 2 backups, still nicely wrapped :D

Have you guys tried it? What do you think?

Review for Rimmel Vinyl Gloss

On the recent trip to Watsons, I picked up a few Rimmel lip glosses that were on 20% discount. The three Vinyl Glosses I picked were in shades 111 Demure, 112 Steal My Kisses and 113 Mischief. The lip glosses are applicator form for easy navigation of product onto lips.

Left to Right: Demure, Steal My Kisses, Mischief (below)

Swatches with flash (below) Left to Right: Demure, Steal My Kisses, Mischief

Swatches under daylighting (below) Left to Right: Demure, Steal My Kisses, Mischief

Demure is a candy milky baby pink shade in the bottle but comes out extremely sheer. The colour is very girly and will look very pretty topped over a baby pink lipstick.

Steal My Kisses is a pink with slight orange undertone that is darker and more pigmented than Demure.

Mischief looks purple in the bottle but comes out pink with purple undertones. It is more pigmented than Demure. It is very wearable despite the shocking purple colour in bottle. If you are looking for a lilac colour that is not too loud, this might be the one for you.

Pros:

These three colours are beautiful and extremely wearable. They do not dry out lips which is a pretty wonderful as I have sensitive and dry lips and pretty much all lipsticks and glosses I’ve tried dried out my lips, making my fingers itch as I restrain from peeling them. The glosses are extremely affordable; S$12.90 each. Definitely buildable for Steal My Kisses and Mischief, not that much for Demure as it is very sheer. The lasting power is around 3 hours if drinking only water. Reapplication is required after meals.

Cons:

These glosses are not very pigmented so I will not recommend it if you have dark/ pigmented lips as the colours will probably not show up. But for the price I still do think that these glosses are reasonable and the colour payoff from the Steal My Kisses and Mischief are quite good.

Yadda Yadda:

Retails for S$12.90 at Watsons for 5ml or 0.17 fl oz. I bought it at a 20% discount and paid only S$10.00 for each gloss. Will I repurchase? YES! I already bought backups of Steal My Kisses and Mischief. My current HG lipglosses! Hurry, go snag a few now and share your thoughts! Ratings: 4.5/5 Stars.
