Review of Luuux.com

From Luuux Website:

What is LUUUX?
Luuux is a community where you add information on the latest trends and cutting edge ideas which you can share with your friends.

We share back our revenues with our users. By being active on Luuux you will earn Luuux$ which you can spend in our store or give away to your favorite charity.

How do I get started in LUUUX?
Easy! Just sign up and start earning Luuux$ for everything you do on the site. The sign up process is simple. We’ll need your name, email address and a password and that’s it, but the more info you put into your profile the more Luuux$ you earn.

You earn Luuux$ every time you add, comment or rate content.
The better the community says your content is, the more Luuux$ you earn.
The more Luuux$ you have, the more you can buy or donate!

All in all, Luuux is a blogging community that gives you cash credits for the posting of content and interaction you make with other bloggers.

Pros:

Luuux allows bloggers to reach a larger audience than to create an individual blog on a domain itself. There may be 10-100 people viewing your posts depending on your popularity. I get around 10-20 comments each posts and I have absolutely no popularity at all. So it is definitely a better option to get your work known there rather creating a blog from scratch using a domain like Wordpress or blogspot.

With the Luuux dollars, bloggers can purchase expensive products on the site and do not have to spend a single cent. I heard that even shipping fee can be deducted from the Luuux points so I am pretty impressed by how the system works.

The luxurious products motivate the bloggers to create more content, interact with others and help spread the word of Luuux website.

Cons:

The pictures taken with my camera have to be resized to around 500px for them to be uploaded. The usual resolutions of my photos are around 1000px so it is a hassle to have to keep resizing them if I want to post them up.

Photos have to be uploaded one by one. This is so troublesome and will discourage bloggers like myself to keep posting more pictures. Even with blogging sites such as Wordpress and Blogger, multiple pictures can be chosen together and then automatically uploaded one by one. To have to select, upload, select and then upload again and again is a huge downside for bloggers.

The speed on the site is quite slow. I find that I have to wait much longer for Luuux to load rather than any ordinary blogging domain or community. I do know that it is because of increasing popularity and traffic but IMO, fast processing speed is essential for higher efficiency.

If you have absolutely no name or popularity on the internet, a nobody like me, then you will have lower chances of your posts getting more comments (you get a $ for each comment) and more likes. People with higher popularity such as Youtube Gurus or famous beauty bloggers can earn 10 times the amount you are earning from a post as they get tons of comments, and referral points. Therefore to garner enough points to check out your first purchase is extremely difficult.

Since there is no limit to how long your posts are, I find that many people take advantage of this to post extremely short posts with one picture (from the internet) and 4 to 5 lines of words. I’m not saying this is unfair because it’s the content that is important but I do feel disappointed when I see bloggers like that.

Yadda Yadda

All in all I still find Luuux a great website if you are into blogging or wanting to know more people in the blogging community or outside your country. There are some areas that I find still needs to be improved. I think that the expensive items are just an added bonus because points do not just rise instantly, so putting in hard work is definitely necessary.

Lets become friends if you are on Luuux too!

Review for Nyx Round Lipsticks- The Famous Five

Hey everyone! Today I am going to review the Nyx round lipsticks in Baby Pink, Harmonica, Strawberry Milk, Jupiter, and Narcissus. These 5 Nyx lipsticks are extremely popular for their baby milky pink colour. There are of course more popular baby pink colours in the Round lippy range but I picked up these five because these lipsticks are literally begging me to purchase them. This is going to be a photo heavy post (I kinda just realized it) so it’ll be kind of an In-Your-Face post I guess.

There is one thing I want to warn people who are interested in buying Nyx lippies. Their colour on the website is way off and even swatches are not reliable at all. Many of the colours that I will explain below are extremely different when swatched on hand and on lips. They look SO pretty in photos but do not be tricked.

Baby pink- I honestly don’t know what had gotten into me to buy this shade. Baby pink is a milky purple shade so the name is WAY OFF. There is nothing pink about it. This comes out as a light purple when swatched on my hand but when on my lips it is frosty silver. It contains tons of shimmer so do beware. This shade makes me look really dead. So I do not recommend it!

Harmonica- It is a light baby pink shade (lighter than Strawberry Milk) that looks light baby pink on hand and white on lips! Gosh! I was hit by disappointment twice in a row! It was so pretty on my hand! I will only recommend it if you have extremely light lips.

Strawberry Milk- Highly raved by many Youtube Gurus and famous bloggers so I thought this was going to be a perfect baby pink shade. Again, I swatched on my hand and it was a fabulous milky baby pink colour. I tried it on my lips and it was still a tad too light for me. It was not bad but it will be more wearable if it was a little darker. I will recommend Strawberry Milk if you are suitable of wearing a very light milky pink shade. Overall it is a very pretty baby pink shade

Jupiter- It looked like a reddish shade with silver shimmers on swatches but when I apply on my lip, it was way too frosty. The shimmers were too heavy and my lips look silver-ish pink. I was pretty disappointed with this because it was highly raved by a Youtube Guru. I guess it didn’t work out for me. I will recommend only if you prefer frosty lippies.

Harmonica- Beautiful candy pink on lips. This colour is very popular and I can see why now. It is not an everyday colour IMO (kinda flashy) but still a nice shade to have.

_______________________________________________________________________________

Pros:

Wide range of colours from purples to pinks to mauves to reds. They are inexpensive; I bought it for SGD$4 at a store that sells Nyx. I heard cherry culture sells it for less but you have to spend a minimum amount for free shipping. The packaging is good surprisingly for the price. Locks really well and does not feel cheap. The bottom of the lipstick does show the true colour when swatched on hand. The whole lipstick fits into the packaging so no accidental scrapping of product will occur.

Cons:

These Nyx circle lipsticks are very streaky and do not adhere to lips well. It builds up in the cracks of the lips and just stays floating on the lips when packed on so I just apply a thin layer on my lips. Therefore their lasting power isn’t good, 1 hour and it’s gone. These lipsticks have a very horrible smell. They smell like cheap soaps and when I lick my lips I can taste it. Just eww. I am not really sensitive to smell (colourstay foundation smells kinda nice to me), most fragrance are find and if I can’t stand it, you know how bad it is.

Yadda Yadda:

Overall I think that these lipsticks are low in quality, the smell is nasty and the lasting power is bad. For price, I think it is okay but I would rather pay a little more and get a Revlon or Maybelline lipstick that has better quality than these does. I do recommend Strawberry Milk and Narcissus, they have better colour payoff and definitely more wearable than the other 3.Will i repurchase? Most probably not.

Packaging: 4/5

Lasting power: 2/5

Smell: 0/5 (NASTY!)

Price: 4/5

Overall rating: 2/5 Stars

Review for La Girl’s Pencil Eyeliner in P601 Black and P602 Brown-Black

Hello Everyone! Today I’m gonna do a review on La Girl’s Pencil Eyeliner in Black and Brown-Black. Find out where I bought it here! I’ve decided to first do a review on Black and Brown-Black because I’ve used those more frequently and able to write a more detailed review. I think people will be more concerned with the darker shades than bright shades. There are really not much difference between the two, the brown-black looks more brownish when swatched.

Pros:

Brown-Black shade looks very natural. Price is extremely inexpensive. I paid like 5 bucks and compared to other drugstore brands such as Revlon and Loreal, I do think that it is the cheapest. I think it works fairly well for its price. These eyeliners do stay on the upper eyelids really well, lower lids, meh, not really. I was under the hot Singapore sun (yes, hot Singapore sun because the heat literally melts away any traces of makeup) for an hour and it did fade a little (30-40%) but the eyeliner still stays on. The lines can be removed easily; one swipe of my mandom cleansingexpress makeup remover and it’s practically gone

Cons:

These pencils require a sharpener which may be inconvenient to some people but it is totally fine with me. The pencil liners are quite hard and can does not glide on that smoothly compared to my Revlon matte eyeliner and MAC kohl eyeliner in Smolder which I will do a review later on. It is not that creamy and I find that I do have to tug my eyelids a little when I use these. Opaque line is hard to achieve. I find that no matter how many times I go over it I am still unable to get a very opaque shade. I will recommend these eyeliners if you do not like harsh eyeliners. I do prefer my eyeliner to be opaque black so I consider this a con.

The lasting power is not very good, around 3 hours at most I would say. The one thing I probably dislike the most about these pencils is that it smudges. Not like crazy raccoon eyes, but it does smudge. The Revlon Matte Eyeliner differs slightly from the LA Girl liners throughout the day, it does not smudge but it fades and then vanishes.

Yadda Yadda:

I bought these LA Girl pencil eyeliners at Guardian for SGD$5.00 each at Guardian now. Go grab some LA Girl cosmetics at your nearby Guardian! Will I repurchase? As much as I want to, I probably will not repurchase. The eyeliners do not go very easily and the colour is not opaque enough for my liking.

Find the Solutions to your acne problems using face mapping

Face Mapping

Hey guys! I’ve been breaking out these few days and I thought I might come up with this post to help improve acne problems. Like I said earlier, I’ve started to break out around my nose and inner cheek area (I don’t break out unless I’m nearing my period) and I was so worried that my skincare products are losing effectiveness (number 1 fear). Luckily it was not!

These pictures and information are what I have read and consolidated on the web so far. It has helped me alot in understanding my face, acne and overall health and I hope that this will help you too!

Forehead

Outbreaks on your forehead can be caused by a toxin build up, usually related to poor digestion and lack of water. Drinking water helps to flush out the toxins in your body, so boost your water intake and have a look at the foods you are eating. A diet high in dairy for example, consumed by someone who could possible be lactose intolerant, would be suffering with digestive issues.

Nose

What goes on, on your nose, is linked to your heart. A swollen and bulbous nose can be an indication to high blood pressure so if you are someone who drinks many energy drinks throughout the day, try cutting back, eat slow, energy releasing foods such as nuts and oats.

That area above your nose, between your eyes.

Any redness and flakiness of the skin in this area is linked to your liver. If you are someone who enjoys eating out a lot, then you will be consuming many rich ingredients used in the food. Try to avoid the likes of cheese, butter, cream and oils when ordering. Why not make eating in the new eating out? In addition, do not eat late at night! Studies have shown that the body’s metabolism starts to slow down into the evening, preparing for the nights rest. Try to avoid eating late at night; especially right before bedtime as your body will not break down the food as effectively, leading to a toxin buildup. If you have regular meal times set, try to keep your evening meal before 9pm, though some say avoid eating after 7pm.Those who drink a lot of alcohol will also break out in this area.

Upper Cheek

Your upper cheek is linked to your lungs. If you have breakouts and broken capillaries in this area, this can be caused directly by smoking and passive smoking. The air you are breathing will show in this area of your face, so if, for example, you are living in a highly polluted area, you will break out here. However, if you sleep on the side of your face, or use your mobile phone on this side, the germs and dirt transferred can clog your pores, causing breakouts. To prevent this, change your pillowcase at least once a week, and wipe down your phone with an antibacterial wipe every few days.

Lower Cheek

Breakouts on your lower cheek can be an indication of poor dental hygiene. If you have any infections in your mouth, especially involving your gums, this will show on the outside too. Always keep on top of your dental health, brushing, mouthwash and flossing twice a day and regular check ups at the dentist at least twice a year!

Ears

Many of the spots you get on your ears are those under the skin, lumpy type, almost cystic and can be painful. Your ears are linked to your kidneys, so if you are not up on your water intake, or have too much salt and caffeine in your diet, this could explain why you are suffering in this area. Remember, your body generally needs around 8 large glasses of water a day, but throw in a few extra for good measure. Cut back on food with a high salt content and try caffeine free tea’s and decaf coffee’s.

Side of the Chin

I, like many other women, break out in this area around my time of the month. This area is related to your hormones, so any sudden changes or a hormonal imbalance, can cause breakouts here. These tend to appear a few days before you are due to start a period, and clear up once your period is over. It can be tempting to pick them but don’t! I find they are the quickest to clear up so it’s better to put up with them for a few days than be left with a nasty scar. Also, if you are not getting a lot of sleep or find yourself stressed out, you are likely to breakout here too. The average person needs roughly 6.5 to 8 hours of sleep a night, are you getting yours?

Chin

Your chin is linked to your small intestine, so a poor diet or food allergies could cause you to break out in this area. Look at your diet; are there any specific food groups, such as diary, that when you eat, you suffer an uncomfortable digestion or breakout in this area? It could be worth keeping a food diary and a record of your experiences to see which foods trigger the symptoms. Do you eat many oily foods? The oils from these foods can make quite a mess on your face when eating, so make sure you clean around your mouth properly after eating to stop any build up.

Neck and Chest

Breakouts here are usually caused by stress. I have found that by practicing stress relieving activities, such as yoga, meditation and certain writing methods, I have been able to take control, de-stress and reduce breakouts in this area. Remember, the clothes you wear and the products you wash them in can irritate your skin and cause breakouts here too.

Zones 1 & 3
Left and right side of forehead: Traditionally, this zone is regarded as the "sister" to the bladder and digestive system. If you breakout frequently in this area, it might mean that you need to improve your elimination by drinking more water and eating more "whole" foods.

Zone 2
Between the eyebrows: The middle of the forehead, between the eyebrows, is related to the liver. Congestion in this zone can indicate over consumption of alcohol, rich foods, and possibly a food allergy (such as lactose intolerance).

Zones 4 & 10
Left and right ear: The ears are a highly sensitive area related to the kidneys. If you notice that your ears are very hot, you might be stressing them out – drink plenty of plain water and cut down on caffeine and alcohol.

Zones 5 & 9
Left and right cheek: The cheeks often give an accurate glimpse into any respiratory distress. Smokers or people suffering from allergies generally experience fine, broken capillaries or congestion in this area.

Zones 6 & 8
Left and right eye area: The eyes are truly a window to the body's health because they're related to the kidneys. Dark circles, while often hereditary, are made worse by dehydration and poor elimination.

Zone 7
Nose and upper lip: A reddened nose can indicate heightened blood pressure, or the early stages of rosacea. Congestion around the upper lip can occur if you use comedogenic lipsticks or liners.

Zones 11 & 13
Left and right side of chin: Look and feel for undersurface congestion and breakouts. Undersurface congestion can be due to insufficient cleansing all the way down to the jaw-line, leaving make-up and cleanser residue. If there are breakouts along the jawbone near the ear, check if you’re having problems with your back teeth (wisdom), or have had recent dental surgery or x-rays.

Zone 12
Breakouts or unusual hair growth can indicate hormonal imbalance, possibly caused by extreme stress. Premenstrual breakouts are also very common on the chin.

Zone 14
Neck: Don't forget to include your neck in your treatment regimen – the skin on your neck is just as fragile as that on your face, so it definitely needs the benefits of moisturisation and sun protection.

*Remember that there are many factors that contributes to your acne problems other than your internal health. If these methods still wouldn't work, please do not be discouraged!

A/N: I was thought that my pimples were caused by my constipation problem (*embarrassed*) and I was RIGHT! I ate laxative pills the next day and my zits are healing now. I know consuming laxatives are not good for the body but my constipation was darn serious, like 5 days of not passing motion. Hope this information helps!

Review for LA Girl Blush in BL554 Blushing

Hey peeps! Remember my post on the mini LA Girl haul? Today I am going to do a review on LA Girl blush in BL554 Blushing.

Pros:

A gorgeous coral pink colour suited for all skin tones! This blush has extremely heavy pigmentation, so do use a light hand when applying. The blush is inexpensive; I bought it for SGD$12.00. Packaging is okay I guess, neither flimsy nor hard to open. Does feel like cheap plastic but still sturdy so I give packaging a 3.5/5. Lasting power is around 6-7 hours before fading occurs significantly.  Find out where I bought it here!

Cons:

The one thing I absolutely dislike about this product is that the compact blush powder flakes like CRAZY! The fallouts are just horrible. Just swiping my brush in once, all the loose powder flakes appear in the pan and it drives me mad. I have to get rid of the excess loose powder before going for another swipe which is a huge waste of product. The blush is pretty hard to blend, it is really pigmented and it appears on the cheek in blotches. I have to keep blending and blending which is alike to rubbing the skin with a brush and isn’t good for the skin at all.

Yadda Yadda:

I bought LA Girl blush for SGD$12.00 after a discount (original price SGD$15.00). Guardian also sells them but they are at a pricier side. Net Weight . Will I repurchase? No. I didn’t really like formula, definitely can be improved. Ratings: 2/5 Stars. Do you guys own any LA Girl products? Which do you recommend?

A/N: From what I know, Guardian's LA Girl section does not sell Blushes but I cannot say so for all Guardians. Check and let me know! :D
